  A warm welcome awaits you

West Learmouth Farm is located in the gently rolling countryside of north Northumberland adjacent to the Scottish border in an area of natural beauty - one of the country's last undiscovered tourist destinations.

The same family has farmed this land for over 100 years and the present custodian is Bob Moore, who lives in the farmhouse with his wife Jasmin and their four children.

Located a mile and a half to the west of Cornhill-on-Tweed the farm is one of those rare places in Britain where the prevalent sound as you walk through the countryside is birdsong. You'll rarely see any traffic on the quiet country roads although you might have to give way to the occasional tractor or a herd of cattle.

One of the distinctive features of West Learmouth is the long row of farm workers' cottages, built around 1835 to accommodate a workforce of 25. Like all farms in the 1800s, a large number of men were needed to care for the many heavy horses used to work the land.

Of course farming has changed beyond recognition since then and the cottages no longer serve their original purpose. The Moores are gradually renovating these properties and now offer two properties for rent as self catering holiday accommodation. In additional to Willow and Lightpipe Cottages it is expected that additional houses will become available in 2008.
